Relief teachers for early learning centres, sorted in minutes.
Relievers, ready when you are.
Ready Teddy connects NZ ECE centres with vetted relievers. No agencies, no phone tag — just request, confirm, and teach.
How it works
For centres
Post a shift
Choose the room, day and hours. See who's free nearby.
A reliever accepts
Your best matches get a text. First to accept gets the shift.
Approve the timesheet
Ready Teddy charges a small platform fee. You pay the reliever through your payroll.
For relievers
Set your usual week
Tell us when you're normally free and how far you'll travel.
Get texted requests
Centres request you directly. Accept the shifts that suit you.
Get paid by the centre
Enter your hours, the centre approves, and they pay you through their payroll.
Vetted before they reach your board
Every reliever on Ready Teddy has their documents checked before they can receive requests. Certificated teachers need a current practising certificate. Everyone else needs a Police vet issued within the last 3 years. Photo ID is checked for everyone. First aid is shown on the card and can be filtered. It does not hide a reliever.

Questions
- Who pays the reliever?
- The centre pays the reliever through its own payroll. Ready Teddy never pays wages.
- When is the platform fee charged?
- Only when a timesheet is approved or an unused standby window closes. No fill, no fee.
- How does standby work?
- A reliever is on call for a short window. If you don't need them, they still keep the standby fee. If called in, it becomes a shift.
- Is GST included?
- Pricing is shown inclusive of GST for GST-registered accounts. Check the pricing page for current tiers.
